May/June 2019 Presidents Report

Hi All

The Easter Saturday Side Walk Sale was once again a great success. Feedback from some members indicated a very positive result. The atmosphere was electric and loads of activity. Well done to those businesses who put in a great amount of effort to showcase our CBD. The reported feedback from businesses were fantastic news for retailers -  20% increase on sales on the day, others saying it was their biggest sale day of the history of their business. We are pleased that the event was successful, but events like these take a lot of work and The Chamber will be considering the future the Side Walk Sale, as we need more volunteers for the continued success.

End of financial year is fast approaching and businesses are busy with stocktake and preparing for sales. We encourage you all to support our local retailers during this sale time.

Business Awards are in full swing and nominations close 23rd June. It's a credible awards process and we encourage you all to enter. If you need help with your entry, please discuss with our Awards Co-ordinator.

Chamber Membership is due for renewal soon and we appreciate your support. Your membership is a powerful resource and we’re here to help businesses succeed. The Chamber spend countless hours attending and participating in important meetings/events affecting the business community such as education, health, transport, water, employment and more. All for the long term benefit. If you have any questions regarding your membership, please contact our Secretary Amanda to discuss.
Below in our newsletter you'll see a summary to the activity undertaken by Griffith Business Chamber in the last 3 months. This summary simply shows the key meetings and activity. The Griffith Business Chamber together with the BEC Business Advice and Griffith City Council are exploring the opportunity to do The Biggest Business Survey. The data collected will be very helpful and useful to the entire business community. We hope to gain a clear picture of the business landscape in Griffith. Please take the time to do this survey once it’s released.
