December 2017 Presidents Report

WOW! 2017 has been a big year and we hope 2018 will be even bigger!

Thank you to our members who came along to our Jingle & Mingle networking event on 30th November. It was great to catch up with you all and hear your feedback and learn more about each of you and your business.

We are so excited to re-ignite the Griffith Business Chamber awards next year. It’s a chance to celebrate excellence in business. Providing recognition and outstanding achievements of individuals and businesses within in their field.  Preparations are in early stages and we hope to release information early next year. The awards will be aligned with NSWBC which means it provides a prestigious opportunity to elevate your business to the next level.  If successful at a local level, you receive the chance to showcase your business and represent Griffith at a Regional level then hopefully at a State Level where you compete against the best in NSW. The popular Local Customer Service award will also make a comeback. We are currently sourcing sponsorship and if any business is keen to be part of the biggest event of 2018, please get in contact with Amanda Quarisa.

Recently we conducted a survey of our members and we are pleased with the results knowing we are on the right track to represent the business community. We’ve listened to your feedback and will implement some of the changes you have suggested next year such as quarterly events. Our new executive team are keen and motivated to bring you a fantastic year ahead.

Part of your feedback will also help us review our 10 Point Plan  for Griffith to Thrive and Prosper. These 10 points are Chamber’s goals to represent the business community. Your feedback assists our direction.
Our Executive will also have the privilege to meet with Austin Evans Member for Murray tomorrow. We are keen to build a great relationship and work with Austin ongoing regarding a range of issues and look for State Government support for our 10 Point Plan.

Congratulations to Griffith City Council for the fantastic Christmas activity this year. The Festival of Lights, Polar Express Bus, Moonlight Movie & Markets at Pioneer Park, Christmas Tree in Memorial Park & Yenda Square, Santa, the signage, decorations & music provide an atmosphere of Christmas cheer!

Remember: Shop local this Christmas.

Griffith Business Chamber are pledging to the community to Shop Small, Spend Local, Eat Local, Enjoy Local and support the local businesses that support your community to thrive & prosper. Local business are the backbone to society and we must continue to support them where possible.

Lastly the Griffith Business Chamber Executive Committee wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy new year.

Kind Regards
Paul Pierotti
