Presidents Report March/April 2020

Our local community have entered into uncharted waters that for some it may take years to recover but for others the changing Business landscape provides opportunity  to grow and prosper.
Right now where possible online shopping trend that is here to stay so let's embrace it set up a web page, look at fast service and deliver to the front door. The Amazon's of this world can't match local in terms of delivery and service at a similar price. We need to be smart with inventory to compete. The NBN is the new highway that does allow us to do business all over the world.
Now more than ever we need to support each other,  where possible buy in town and buy local. If you can buy it local then by all means do it- it all goes around.
With state and federal governments doing their best trying to stimulate and keep our economy in work the Griffith Business Chamber will lobby Griifith council to provide rate relief for 3 months for all rate payers, they have the funds and could easily do it without impacting on services. Already some Sydney councils have moved in this direction by dropping some fees and charges in an effort to do their bit.
Also the chamber with our local state member have approached MLHD  to reopen community input on our new hospital to increase services and push for the kitchen and mental health to be available there as well.

Griffith Business Chamber encourage you all to support your local businesses MORE THAN EVER. With uncertain times ahead, it's wise to equip yourself and research as much useful information and knowledge on how your business can steer through this uncertain time and come out the other end.
